Episode 1

Episode 1 – Osprey Nesting: Photographer and volunteer naturalist Russ Kerr tells the story of the first nesting of Osprey in the Back Bay at Newport Beach, California. After a long wait,  chicks were hatched and raised a full thirteen years after the construction and installation of the platform, designed and built by Russ. He remained there, waiting for the birds to discover the platform, and then he captured the birth of the chicks and finally – their emotional send-off into the wild.

Episode 2

Episode 2 – Birds of the Wetlands: Russ takes us for a tour of the wetlands in Southern California: Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve and the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, introducing the many species of birds with a beautiful display of his original photographs.

Russ is a gifted storyteller, sharing his keen observations on the life of predatory birds in the wild, from hawks to osprey to condors to the American bald eagle. Don’t miss his final comments at the end of this informative, enlightening presentation.
